Exceptional example of a now extinct craft.
This example dates to the late nineteenth century. These were journeymen pieces made by people who were living outside of normal society. They were made of essentially rubbish. This one is made of cigar boxes. Real skill is needed to make such an item with limited resources. It also features a padded orange lining.
It also features a lovely green velvet in the paneling.
The size is length 30 cm wide, 15 cm high 19 cm deep
As it is over a hundred years old it is not perfect. There are some areas of loss to the wood and the edges.
A real survivor
