An early example of the traditional Swedish rug making, probably by Ingegerd Silow. Generally the makers or designers leave their initials to one corner. I cannot find it here but it is so typical of her work. Silow (1916 – 2005) was a Swedish designer and master weaver. She went to the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm, the School of Arts and Crafts (Kunsthåndværkerskolen) in Copenhagen and The School of the Association of Friends of Textile Art (Handarbetets vänners Vävskola) in Stockholm. The rug is in good condition, just showing its age on the edges, where they are a little frayed.
