Following her education, Ingrid Dessau (1923-2000) worked as freelance artist creating textile designs featuring simple, modern and elegant patterns. Her work first appeared in 1953 in an exhibition at Galerie Moderne and was widely admired. Throughout her career, she worked with many organizations including Hemslöjden, Kristianstad, the Kastalls Mattfabrik, and Kinnasand AB and she completed many commissions including projects for various embassies and the Swedish Parliament.
There is some staining visible on the yellow reverse side despite being professionally cleaned.
Wear is minimal and consistent with age and use.
