A very large example of a low countries, probably Dutch, ebonised ripple moulded picture frame. These frames were very popular around the 1720`s and on through to the aesthetic period of the 1870`s. To the reverse you can see how it was made with the individual woodworkers marks. A very rare example in good antique condition with faults.
